Meyer Health Campus
The Meyer Health Campus is the heart of training and education. In the former theological faculty of Via Cosimo il Vecchio, the Meyer Health Campus, a 4,800-square-meter building, was set up as the site for teaching and training. It is available to staff and residents with five equipped classrooms: the date scheduled for the inauguration of the structure, the first of its kind in Italy, is February 24, 2018. The Meyer Health Campus will be easily accessible on foot from the hospital because it will be connected to the Meyer car park by an internal walkway. In collaboration with the University of Florence and the Tuscany Region, the Campus will host all the educational, research and innovation activities in the peediatric field; it will guide the formation of tomorrow's paediatricians, and will accompany the professionals who care for the health of children and young people with certified continuing education activities. It will be the headquarters of the schools of specialization in the pediatric area, the training centre for health professions and regional pediatric simulation network. The new multidisciplinary centre will welcome researchers, scientists, students and foreign guests, fostering exchanges of knowledge and opportunities for professional growth in close and constant connection with welfare activities. The overall and final renovation project will allow the construction of study and reading rooms and two large auditoriums, in addition to the other classrooms, a guesthouse, and a refreshment area. The Meyer Health Campus is surrounded by a green area of 3.5 hectares.
